Pixel 5 & $699 price

Anyone moving to the p5? Last month I sold my pixel 4xl for $500 and have been using the pixel 3a for the time being "spare phone". I pre-ordered the green p5 and excited for the specs.

The only non upgrade seems like the 765g chip in terms of speed, but the 128gb of storage, 8gb of ram, bigger 4k+ battery, reverse wireless, wireless charging, nice small bezels, finger print scanner, water proof etc got me excited and convinced me to pull the trigger.

How does everyone feel about the phone + $699 price. Fyi after taxes cost $745.

sold the Pixel 4 XL for $500 USD? Wow you are lucky man selling an old phone for such a high price! Good job.

Anyway, I don't mind the downgraded CPU, it's all about the user experience and if the 765G can do what I want it to do, I'm happy. I am not chasing benchmark numbers, I just want nothing to do with Bixby and Samsung ads, clean Android, great camera, and decent battery life.

My Pixel 4 is great, love the camera and the size but the battery life is horrendous. I charge it twice a day with moderate usage so yeah this upgrade is welcome.

They were never all in. They tried to skate by, always leaving out the hardware that would put them over the edge, hoping that optimized software would makeup the deficit. The lack of ram and small battery plagued Pixels 3/4 when other flagships were all in. Pixel 4 was DOA when reviewers discovered the battery wouldn't last the whole day. That was after former Pixels were given poor reviews for weak batteries. And again Pixel 5 is almost there, BUT it has a slower processor and a smaller screen. I wish they read this forum before developing a phone.

Is the 5 on display in Best Buy stores yet? I want to compare the 4a 5G to the 5. I'm concerned about the 5 being too small.
You might have better luck finding it at a Verizon store. My local Best Buy still didn't have the 4a in the store a few weeks ago. Best Buy seems to push Samsung & Apple phones to the exclusion of everything else, the same way they push Samsung Sony, & LG TVs.

Price is excellent for me. They took off a lot of extra crap and kept it basic. I'm sure Black Friday will have a deal that will be worth taking advantage of. I'll be upgrading from my 3XL, no question.

The Asus ROG 3 is for you!!!

Nope. Pass. The phone belongs in 2018/early 2019. What company sits down and thinks its a good idea to literally take and neuter last year's version. Worse processor, same 2 year old camera, worse PPI, no ip68 rating. Complete and utter garbage. Screw Google for this disaster. Give me a real damn flagship with stock Android. snapdragon 865+, 6.9" display, 120Hz, etc.

IDC what their moronic surveys suggests. Look at how the S20 and Note20 lines are selling. There's obviously demand for that. Maybe reach out to Apple and learn how to ******* market correctly.

Releasing these garbage phones just neuters the entire Android brand. What casuals will see with Android is that the creator of the platform is making cheap garbage phones thus the OS must be cheap garbage.

Well, hopefully, Google will discount it or the carriers will discount Pixel 5 by holiday time. Even though if it's a brand new phone.
