Pixel 5a volume rocker actions, can they be changed?

The volume rocker on this phone only adjusts the media volume. Is there a way to change it so the rocker will also adjust the volume of calls and ringtone?

This is standard behavior for Pixel phones (and many others) -- I'm not aware of any native way to change that. When you press the volume button, tap the little menu icon under the slider to bring up all of the other sliders.

If you press the button while you are in a phone call then it will adjust the volume of the call. Press the button while nothing it playing on the device and it will change the notification (aka ringtone) volume.

Are you sure about that? If that's the case then the 5a is different from the 4a 5G as my 4a 5G changes the media volume if I press the volume rocker while nothing is playing.

My 5a is like this...with nothing playing, the rocker adjusts the media. When phone is ringing it adjusts the ringer volume. During a call it adjusts call volume.

That's how it's working on my 5a, and it's how it worked on my previous Pixels as well. I just did a call and adjusted the volume of the earpiece. However, quickly after I'd done that, but before the slider went away, it switched to the media slider. So if you're not watching closely enough, it may appear that the only adjustment is the media slider.

Also, after you press the volume rocker, just below the slider, there's a button with 3 horizontal lines, press that and it opens a window on the bottom showing all four volume sliders and where they're currently set.

Is yours a 5a or a different Pixel? Because mine shows 3 horizontal lines, each with a hash mark so it looks like sliders on a mixing board. Yours has 3 dots in a in a row.
