Android Central Question

I have already exchanged for new one and issue has not been resolved. Love the phone but may have to swap brands. It is super loud at lowest call volume setting.

Just signed up to say that I am having the same problem. Minimum call volume when NOT on speaker is far too loud. It hurts my ear if I don't hold it away from my head and my girlfriend can hear the call from the other side of the room. Speaker is louder (but not by much).

Welcome to AC!
Which do u have the pixel 6 or Pro?

Try in safe mode if you experience the same .

I fixed it by checking on past forums. There is a hearing aid setting in accessibility that needs to be turned off. Mine was set off but checked and then unchecked and call volume was lowered. However, this morning it has arbitrarily decided to revert back to the loud setting again. Not sure if downloafing apps triggers hearing aid setting to engage. Sure hope it fixes soon.

Now hearing aid compatibility setting is gone. I don't want to factory reset but looks that way. This is a software issue and is getting to be a pain in the butt.

Curious, is the top speaker grill supposed to only have the first 6 spots "open" so to speak and the other 4 seem closed? Have a P6 and noticed this wasn't sure if that was normal?

Do you mean the volume doesn't adjust at all in Safe Mode only, or also in normal mode?

Are you certain the Volume buttons are controlling the Call volume, and not the other volumes (i.e., Media, Alarm, etc.)?

In both modes. The call volume slider is showing the call volume being adjusted but the actual volume coming out of the device doesn't seem to be changing.

No. Is this my only option? Factory resetting will be a nightmare now that I've transferred all my data over and traded in my old phone.
I dont see anything else to try , its a bummer that you just did a transfer of everything but should try before calling Google for warranty

I would agree, factory reset is the next step, since you already tried Safe Mode. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then contact Google for warranty repair or replacement.
