Pixel 6 Pro assistant not reading back

Is anyone else's pixel 6pro assistant not reading back when you ask it a question? I have checked options, voice read back is at full, language is English US. It used to read back all the time. Now it just brings the results up on screen, and that's it.

I've had this experience even with my pixel 5 before upgrading. I was on Android 12 beta and I could of sworn it was a change they made. I don't remember if you can dig in to the settings and keep that enabled as it used to be.

Yea this was the first place I went. I have full speech output enabled. It still doesn't work.

I tried that, it didn't work. Tried it on, and off. Weird.

I would turn it on. Reboot. Then say hey Google. When assistant pops up press the READ button.

I turned off the audio recordings. Then tapped the READ button after Assistant pops up. That seems to be a toggle for reading things off.

I tried rebooting and it still doesn't work. This is getting frustrating. I've went through all the settings.

Try clearing data and force stop the Google app then re-enable voice see if that helps

I figured it out. I went into my account - Settings - voice - spoken results - all search results. For whatever reason nothing was checked. Settings in Android 12 has been all over the place.

Nothing is selected but mine is still working under those settings.

That's odd. It fixed my issue. Idk. I did port my settings from my old 4XL, so maybe that's why it went all weird.
