Pixel 6 Pro tap screen wake up

Ever since my lastest update for April I've noticed that my tap to wake is not very responsive and very buggy. Is anyone else having the same problem? My only option is to hit the power button to see the screen which is kinda annoying.

I raised this issue in another thread a while ago, but actually since, I don't know when, it has suddenly been responsive. I noticed for the last week, maybe a bit more or less, when I tap the screen is wakes up and I can use my finger to unlock the phone. Prior to this last week (am I now jinxing things) it was completely hit and miss. I've not been following updates so I'm not aware if one might have been installed recently. Fingers remain crossed that it continues to work because the erratic nature was definitely irritating.

Yes, since the April update my tap to wake only works about half the time.

This bug is also on Android 13 Developer Preview Beta 2. My take from the response I received when I issued a bug report Google is aware of this. Why it hasn't been fixed is the question. I sent the bug report a couple of weeks ago.

I figure out the issue and it's quite silly disable the tap to wake and enable and simply reboot afterwards it's working now lol

You can reboot without touching disable tap to wake

The issue is still intermittent on both my Pixel 4a and Pixel 6 Pro running Android 13 Developer Preview Beta 2. Which may explain the delay of the April start of the official A13 Beta program.

Geez this is getting ridiculous. Tap to wake even failing!
