My Note 9 is the best phone I've ever owned but it's on its last legs. Having to plug it in three or four times a day..

Was all set to buy pixel 6 pro but a few of the quirks in the reviews made me pause. Then the leaks for the S22 Ultra hit and I'm tempted to try and make it to February.

Anyone else thinking similarly?

The S22 Ultra will be obviously newer. It will have a better display, brighter. Samsung saves their best displays for themselves. Likely faster charging speeds, etc. It also will have built in S pen support this time around. Even if you don't use the S pen, like myself. It still makes a great stylus which is what I mostly like about it. That said it'll likely cost a few hundred more. Making the P6 pro a better value purchase.

The pixel 6 pro isn't going anywhere. If your a Samsung fan, I'd wait and see after the release of the S22 before making a decision.

I use the S pen regularly and Samsung are usually discounted or have incentives pretty quickly.

You wanted an answer to your question, "Anyone else thinking similarly?" And that is what I did, and still NO.

It appears you want one, so my advice would be what sulla1965 states...primarily wait and see.

It's best to just wait for the s22 ultra since you seem to have a preference for Samsung. I have a pixel 6 and it's a great phone but it does have it's issues and by the time the next ultra comes out Google will either have fixed the main problems with the pixel (fingerprint sensor, mobile network standby drain, etc) or Google will show that those issues aren't big enough to them to fix in which case you will know to go ahead and stay with Samsung. There might also be better colors and better supply for the pixel 6 pro by then. One thing you don't want to do is get a pixel now and then wish you had waited when the ultra 22 comes out. You'll lose money trying to sell your pixel 6 and Samsung most likely won't include the 6 for tradeins since it will be too new.
