Pixel 6 Sales

As expected. Despite a few software issues. The Pixel 6 line isa flagship caliber phone at a good price.

That's great for Google. Goes to show if they really put an effort into a product, it will be reflected in sales. Hopefully they can build on the foundation of the 6 and push the needle even further with the Pixel 7. More polished/bug-free software, better hardware components and just all round less issues.

Pricing is great for the devices, they just need to up the quality a bit.

Nice to hear, but:
"In Q4, we set all all-time quarterly sales record for Pixel." Even though overall it is good news for Google it really does not mean it is great news for Pixel 6 sales. While I would guess there were more Pixel 6 models sold than 5 (or other models) there are no precise numbers shown with comparative previous sales figures.

Need to define sales numbers to show what all-time means. One unit over previous record would classify as "all-time."

From the article this point is made:
"While this is impressive from an in-house perspective, it says next to nothing about actual sales numbers of the Pixel 6 series. Google is typically coy about providing specific sales numbers of its phones but there's strong indication that Pixel sales are nowhere near the competition, particularly considering Google's lackluster global availability."

Good news for google? YES. Good news for Pixel 6? Without exact figures only Google knows.

Google also estimates there are 10 million google phones in use; I thought that sounded impressive but how many other manufactures' phones are also in use?

While I do agree, without numbers, it's hard to determine just how good a 'quarterly sales record' is, however I'll take their word for it and it does seem like the sales would have been mostly the Pixel 6 models, as the Pixel 5 is a year old and is doubtful it'd pick up much sales now and the 5a only sold in two regions (USA and Japan). So I'd feel confident in saying that most phones sold in the quarter would be Pixel 6/6 Pro phones, which would make sense considering how hard they were to get at release. They couldn't keep up with demand.

Either way, it still seems like the phones are picking up sales, at least for the Pixel 6. We'll have to see if they can keep that momentum going with the Pixel 7.
