Yep, good feature. In years past I have had to leave work early so I could get home and find the phone before it got stolen. Not paranoid. FedEx delivered it to the wrong house more than once! .

Now, I'm retired so I will be home.

Pixel phones aren't about specs, they're about, like, being a superfan or whatever.

You could probably get a proper phone for that money though haha.

I'm still generally happy with my 6 pro and although the $100 price increase of the 8 pro is unfortunate, the free watch and generous trade in value for my 6pro was too good to refuse.

True. It's why my 7 pro lives in a drawer.

Unfortunately as well as being a tech nerd, I'm also a tech nerd. So, despite its many many flaws, I'll probably still buy one to try . Then get frustrated and put it in a drawer .

I think most of the people that were following leaks and information about Pixels didn't hear anything special today. From my side, there was no wow and I wanted go to sleep, but after some deep thinking there are some doubts that I have:

- I do not understand why do I have to pay 1099 EUR for Pixel 8 Pro when it costs 999$ in US,
- I am not sure if it is me but I think that most of the new video tricks are limited to 30 FPS only. I cannot find information about recording in "boosted mode" in 4K 60FPS. As an owner of Pixel 7 Pro, the cinematic video last year was also limited and I used it just to see how does it look like and then no more lol.
- my second phone is iPhone 13 mini and while checking trade-in on Google website I can get around 540 EUR for it and around 340 EUR for Pixel 7 Pro... This is ridiculous, Google!!!
- at the moment I see no reason to buy Pixel 8 (Pro). I will wait for first reviews to check how the cameras are.

Maybe around Blackfriday there will be better price and the phone itself will be updated as well. As ex-owner of Pixel Watch I would also recommend to go for Pixel Buds, unless someone needs a watch...

In USA we didn't have an option of a free Pixel Watch last year - we received a $200 store credit, so would still have been out of pocket $150 to $200 to pick one up. In that sense, while sadly not, for you, for many of us it's a stronger promotion.

Interesting. Did anyone who ordered the 8 Pro actually have the charge hit their CC yet? My order was complete and in before the Google event was over but I've yet to be charged. I ordered my wife's (regular) 8 an hour later and got charged right away...
