News Pixel 9 owners might not want to unlock the bootloader

Who still roots their brand new phones?
I have rooted every Android phone I used, including my current Pixel 8, and I don't plan on stopping. Using Swift Backup to handle my app backup and restore is just plain superior to relying on Google's backup.

+1 for what you said. lots of nice options become available when you root!

if you have zero reason to root your android, you might want to give an iphone a try.

ME!
created an account to say this: I will literally not buy any phones that don't allow me to root it (e.g new Oppo/Vivo/Honor phones), and I always root regardless of consequences (Samsung Knox being lost, Google "AI" features get broken, etc.)

rooting allows me to just take my device to the next level, be it installing and running even Windows on an emulator, backing up data with open source software, optimizing performance via custom kernels and root modules, not to mention making custom ROMs and kernels! I love rooting!

AC News: I’ve rooted all my Android phones, including my current Pixel 7, and I dont intend to stop. Swift Backup is far better for managing my app backups and restores than relying on Samsung and Google’s backup system.
