Pixel and smart watches

So I am toying with the idea of getting a smart watch. One thing I want to make sure of is being able to pay with the watch. Without this function there is not enough value to pay the money for this. Even with this option I have my doubts on getting one. The two that I am looking at is the LG Sport Watch and the Samsung S3 Frontier.

I really like the S3 Frontier best, but I am hearing mixed reports on Samsung Pay working with it on the Pixel. My question is if it does work what do you think the chances are of future problems with the Pixels frequent updates? This is what is pushing me to the LG Sport watch.

Uh, didn't think Samdung Pay worked with Pixel. At least it doesn't with mine.

The App will not work on the Pixel but the App runs on the watch and allows it to pay. There are mixed reports on the watch working using Samsung Pay with the Pixel though. Which makes me think I need to go with the LG for a more seamless experience.

The Samsung Pay app works perfectly on my Pixel XL, and Samsung Pay works perfectly on my S3 Classic which is paired with the Pixel. I haven't had any of the issues some others seem to be having. Not bragging - just saying that in my case, they work.

hmm interesting when I look at the Samsung Pay app it say it is not compatible with my device and I have a Pixel XL

Wish I could be of help. All I know is it's working on mine.

That is correct. The Samsung Pay app is not compatible with the Pixel. But it will work on the S3.

Frontier here with pixel XL and yes Samsung pay works perfectly. As others have said, it works from the watch itself. While setting up the watch it prompts you to install pay on the phone, and it does that. Then you use the app on your phone to set up your cards. After that it's all done with the watch.

You can't install pay to your pixel unless you have the watch
