Pixel C after 8.1 upgrade

Wondering if others have experienced what I am seeing. Simply put I waited for the OTA and it looks like the 8.1 update wipped the tablet and restarted it from the point a factory of a factory reset. It did reinstall all of my apps but I lost app data so they are starting from scratch. Just kind of sucks for game data.

Were you on the beta developer preview program or was this the OTA to 8.1 from 8.0? I'm on 8.1 DP2 and neither of the preview OTA's wiped anything.

OTA from 8.0 to 8.1 did a factory reset on mine.

I am still on the beta version of 8.1 I see the update, but I will ignore it until this issue is fixed... I had a friend who upgraded and had his data wiped in the process, so I heard first thing this AM.

I don't seem to have had this problem. As far as I can tell my app data wasn't wiped. (I'm in the UK and got the OTA 8.1.)

Anyone see Assistant yet? It's apparently coming to tablets but no sign with 8.1 or the latest Google app beta for me.

I think I was lucky - I was away for a few days and so may have updated a bit later than I would have done normally. On the official Google Nexus support forum (which is where you have to go for Pixel C stuff) there are a lot of angry people who have had resets with their 8.1 update.

The one benefit to staged rollouts. Not everyone was hit by the bug.
