Pixel not updating

Got a refurbished pixel with July's security patch and still running nougat. I tried updating after I put an at&t sim card in it and it says you are on the latest software. Why won't it update?

Did you do a factory reset after you placed the SIM in? Sometimes that kicks it in gear. It also may take a couple days for it to prompt you even though pushing the check update is supposed to in reality search it again .

Well the phone was already reset when I turned it on. I just think it's odd that it has such an old security patch. It's only day 2 since I've turned it on so hopefully things do kick in gear.

I recommend taking Sim card out and booting then shutting g it off and placing sim card 8n and booting up. This method has jump started some people. Also a factory reset is always great to try to get it updated.

i enrolled in the beta program and immediately unenrolled and BAM! the update popped up!

I can't figure out what's going on with my Pixel XL. I was enrolled in the beta program and unrolled to get on a stable version of 8.1. I have factory reset my phone 3 times and still nothing!!! It's still showing that I'm on beta with the November 5th security patch. I have contacted Google 3 times as well and they assure me a stable version is on it's way. "It's up to the carrier to release it" they say. Well, I'm 2 months behind now and still nothing. I don't know what's going on. Maybe I'm missing something. Anyone have any ideas?

I have. Every time I factory reset it.
