Coming from the s7 edge which takes amazing video, I'm finding it to be a difficult time getting good videos if I'm not outdoors. Anyone else feel the same way? It's weird because I haven't read anything bad about the video quality, but I find it to be very noisy and unclear almost like it can't autofocus and the video quality is not HD quality.

I found out of the box, that video was not 4k.

I had to go into video settings and change it.

Once I did, problem solved.

That looks awesome. I feel like it's only when I'm indoors taking a video that it is noisy and not focused or clear. Not sure how to describe it, just noticed it doesn't look as good as videos I took on the S7 edge indoors.

LOL, every single time you respond you're certain to mention the S7 edge's superiority. Just things that make you say hmmm, why not just stick with the edge? They're both 2016 phones. But, if your purpose is to point out, in the pixel forum, that your S7 is superior to your pixel with indoor video quality... LOL, then sir you've won the award for being the first Sammy fan ever to think that Sammy phones are better than all others... LMAO!

You're right. It's the only thing for me to compare to but both have their pros and cons.

I'm not aware of any Sammy fans ever thinking Sammy phones have cons until the next version of Sammy hits the ground. It's not my intent to offend, but Sammy fans truly are notorious for hijacking threads and making them all about Sammy. For goodness sakes you don't need to point out sub par indoor video quality of the pixel by punctuating the great indoor video quality of Sammy. You could just post a video and let us see if maybe you're doing something wrong.

I admit I don't shoot much indoor or outdoor video, but I'd venture to say low light indoor video is not a pixel strong suit.

All I needed was that clarification and thought maybe some other Sammy users that have moved to the pixel could put their two cents in. Like I said I'm not even a big Sammy fan, I bought the phone, then bought the pixel and just comparing that's all. If I was such a Sammy fan I wouldn't have bought the pixel.

I digress.... Cool!

Maybe you could drop some videos showing us what you mean.

Has anyone else noticed videos sent out from a pixel look bad. Me and wife both have the pixel. She sent a video to an iphone and it slowed the video down and could barely make it out. She sent me one today and i could hear it fine but was extremely grainy. Seems like pixel to pixel should at least be much better. Is there any changes to fix this at all?

That's normal. Sending video via text (MMS) gets downgraded a TON by the carriers.

I never text or even email videos. Most of the time people just want to look at them and move on, but if the video is a keeper, then why not link it up and send the full quality video via link. This way, the recipient can actually see what you've sent and can download it if they so choose. It may take a few extra minutes but it works nicely. Also, I've noticed that I seem to be able to send and receive decent quality videos though Allo.

I still have an issue with indoor videos, that they blur and then refocus, so that part of the video is fine but part is blurred. I did all the 'remove case, and clean off,' stuff. I have tried shooting at 30 and at 60. Same issue. Outdoors comes out much better. It's the focus, unfocus, refocus that confuses me. In a six second video, it started off fine, blurred, then went back to being fine. Anyone have any ideas?

This is the exact issue I am trying to explain. I tried 30 fps and 60fps...4K and 1080p, no difference. It's not focusing right when indoors and if it does it doesn't stay focused the whole time and I get a lot of noise.

I agree its usually indoors in a low light situation, I run into the the same thing. If I'm outside then it's usually pretty good. In my basement usually i have most of the lights off and I see the noise for video and pictures, but outside when it's dark there is usually street lights etc and its good.

Exactly. You really can't rely on MMS to send videos. I've found most carriers compress them so much it becomes useless. Hopefully once they implement RCS it will solve that problem.

I used video for the first time indoors over the holidays and just remembered to go look at them today. I was very disappointed in that the video doesn't look clear. I am not even sure if out of focus is how it looks. To me, it just looks muddy. Not sure what the deal is, but compared to how sharp the photos look, video looks terrible indoors.

Yeah it doesn't make much sense BC the photos are so incredible. I can't believe more reviews haven't mentioned how bad the video quality is. It's a big deal breaker for me since I take a lot of videos of my kid.
