Pixel XL or Pixel XL2

Dear Folks,

The word on the grapevine is the Pixel 2 XL 128 GB will run around 1300 USD in India!

I've been a 50/50 Android - iOS user and am currently using a crapple 6 plus. I'm don't with Apple phones and am looking forward to switching back to Android, for good this time.

I'd like to get a pixel 2 xl but given the Indian pricing, it seems a rather frivolous way to throw away money. Now I'm going to be travelling to the States in the first quarter of the new year for work. The question is, does it make sense to wait until March for the 2XL or should I buy the XL after the next price drop (maybe it'll run me 700 USD)? Even the XL is stupidly priced in India. Just can't believe how badly we're getting shafted.

My major use will be work, music, photos.

I didn't see discounts on the Pixel until just htis week with the release of the 2. Unless India is on a more aggressive schedule for discounting than the States I doubt it'll hit half the price.

The promos I saw as the year went on were offered as credit towards trade-in, 2 for the price of 1 type deals etc.

I wonder if you bought through the Google store you could get the $400 trade for your XL now at least, but that really doesn't help a lot if the XL ran you $1300 last year. You'd be at $2200 betweent he 2 phones.......

Best thing to do is sell your current phone privately

I ordered PIXEL 2 64gb ($649 + tax in US) and I sending my google pixel XL as a trade in. Basically, it cost like $300 for me to get PIXEL 2 64gb.
