Ok, I have both a 64gb 6p and pixel xl 32gb. The Nexus I bought off swappa for around $450 and I loved it. It was my device to use until my Pixel came in.
Here's my thing, I love the 6p and I love the pixel. I am trying the dev preview of 7.1 on the 6p currently. I want to keep the pixel but I'm having a hard time justifying it.

Pixel Pros

Better camera
Better battery so far
Premium build
Faster fingerprint reader
Better screen (but smaller)
Assistant

Nexus 6p Pros

Louder speakers
Cheaper
Decent camera
Bigger screen

Both have the same cons like no waterproofing or wireless charging.

I'm on verizon but this pixel purchase is what would keep me there. I could literally just take the 6p and go back to Cricket for $65 a month with unlimited but slower data. I guess it's just the price of the pixel holding me back. Its literally milliseconds faster at opening apps than my 6p. The pixel has wifi calling baked in on verizon which I need if I'm on Verizon due to bad signal at work. Thankfully I've got another week to decide.

Anyone coming from a 6p that is torn like me? I love both phones and I really can't decide.

Side note: Has anyone been able to get the raise to wake device to work on the 6p? It's in the dev preview but missing in the moves section of the pixel.

I returned my Pixel because...

1.) It was wonky on Android Auto.

2.) While the camera is better, you can't slow pan with video without it being jumpy.

3.) Radios not as good.

4.) Not thrilled with the glass back.

I would be OK with the speaker if it was louder.

It is a harder choice than it should be. Google should have made the Pixel more visually striking, or added wireless charging, ip68 or something else cool. It is not a terrible value, but the 6p around $400 is a great value. My only concern is that the the 6p WILL start feeling old at some point, but that point may come several months to a year from now and you may have better options.

The LGv20 is cuasing the same argument for me. LGs promos bring the phone down to around $500. Pixel at $270 more is not an easy sell although the Pixel is the phone I do want to like!

I only used the 6P for a few days and it was rooted and running a custom ROM so I can't compare it running stock Android but the 6P is great and I was going to hold onto it for a while but came across a Pixel 128 and jumped on it. I agree that it's not a huge step up from the 6P. I do like it though.

I'm considering giving the V20 a test ride and bringing the 6P back to stock so I can try it on Nougat then decide whether to stock with the Pixel, go to the V20 or just stick with the 6P and see what comes out next year. Been jumping from all these phones because of the N7 mess.

If Samsung wouldn't have burned me (pun intended) I wouldn't be in this debacle! I could switch to a s7 edge at best buy and get the $100 gift card and $100 bill credit but meh.

You guys had to remind me of the V20! Now I've got 3 to choose from. Lol. Good to have so many choices.
