Play mp3 On Tablet

i recently bought a lead that plugs into my Google nexus 7 with mini Usb to Female full size Usb. I did this so that i could plug a memory stick with Films into the lead and i could watch them on the Tablet. I also installed a few video players on the Tablet. they are Vlc, Bsplayer and Archos. I then installed Otg Disc explorer and Nexus Media Importer, which scans the memory stick and then asks me what player i wish to use. It all works fine. I thought it would be the same with Music. Both Otg and Nexus Media Importer finds the Music tracks on the stick but i'm unable to play them. I have tried several Android Music players but none work. they all say Error of some kind or other. I would have thought Vlc would play them but no it wont. Again i get error try rescanning although the music files are showning. I tried a friends Lenovo Tablet and its the same, Films work but Music doesn't. The only way i can make it work is to download the Mp3's using Otg and then they will play in any of my Players. Is there any way i can just plug the stick in and then simply press play like i do for video. I installed the same software on my Motorola phone and it detects the Mp3 and plays on any of the players so i cant fathom it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you have an Android device, I don't think there would be any difficulty to play mp3 ringtones.

Thank You for the reply, but its not ringtones i want to be able to play. Its Full music Cd's. Like i say i can watch a Film or Tv series but not play a music cd
