Play Store Download Pending problem

[Android Central Question]

I'm using a Moto G6 running Android 9. I'm attempting to update my apps via Play Store, and all I get is a Download Pending next to each app ... but nothing happens. I've attempted the following to resolve the problem ... all to no avail. Any suggestions for fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

1) I've cleared the Cache and Data from Google Play Store and Google Play Services and Downloads Manager.

2) I've uninstalled Google Play Store updates.

3) I've installed the latest Google Play Store APK.

4) I've deleted my Google Account and re-signed in.

5) I've reset all of my app preferences.

6) I've cleared the Cache in the Google Services Framework.

Nothing works! HELP!

Next thing to check is does it happen on both wifi and data?

I just check WiFi versus Data. It only happens on WiFi. The downloads seem to work fine on Data. However, I have very limited Data ... and I've never had a problem downloading over WiFi before.

I've never had a problem on any WiFi network until last night (which is my home network).

I can sync data over my WiFi network from my computer to my phone with no problem.

Try rebooting your router

Something definitely wrong on the WiFi , if you can try another wifi good one

I will try that, but I'll have to go to the local coffee shop to do that. Good excuse to get out of the house. I'll be back later to report my findings.

I just downloaded a new app from the Play Store via Data. I tried to download the same app via WiFi, and it wouldn't download.

Not sure why Play Store doesn't want to play nice over WiFi.
