Play Store Lag

My wife's 6P seems to have significant lag when opening the Play Store. Even had it close and the phone went black and to the lock screen after a few seconds. I've cleared cache (app and system) and it's been rebooted multiple times. Anyone else having issues? It's been a month or two.

I've not seen anything like that.

You could try clearing Cache (again), Data and Force Close the Play Store application and then give it a whack again. Otherwise, since there are so many associated Google services, rather than trying the same with each of them I'd just perform a Factory Reset and be done with it.

There have been some recent Play Store and Play Services updates too, I remember them coming through in the past few weeks (I recently installed B4, but I'm pretty sure it was before that).
There's a "Play Services Info" app, that checks to make sure all the components of the "Store Stack" are updated and all, and it gets pretty good ratings (4.4/38,8xx installs, I sort of use >=4.2 as my "bar", that and enough ratings, at least 100 or so, so this far exceeds that). Not saying I know anything about the app, or endorse it in any way, but the screen-shots seem to be showing the info you'd need here, or at least enough to make sure you're on "solid footing" to investigate further...
Edit: There's an app called "Play services Info" that has well "more info" about ALL the components in the Play Services stack, I just tried both. While both give me the last updated dates (7/31/17 on my 6P), the second one gives a LOT more detail, and gets a 4.6, also respectable.

On a similar note, the Photos app (stock app) just started getting laggy. I only have 180 photos and I don't use my Google account to backup photos. When I open the camera roll it takes a while to load all the photos. I already uninstalled the updates and then updated again. I also cleared the app cache but it's still doing the same thing. I am on the latest OS update and I'm not rooted and I haven't downloaded any apps recently or made any other significant changes recently. I will clear the phone cache next. Anyone else experiencing issues with their Photos app?

I've been seeing similar slowness in the Photos app lately: takes awhile to reflect an edit that I've made, doesn't bring up all the pictures in the list, etc.

Doesn't help that they've made some lousy 'updates' to the application recently...

I'm on "O", B4, and I'm *not* seeing this, and I have about 225 pics, sync'd to GDrive though (not sure why this would necessarily matter, the metadata should be the same?).
I was going to ask about your SD card (I'm way too used to having them, coming from Win phone, and lots of others), since this is typical with a card that's starting to "go", but not so much, on the 6P ;-]
