Playing music from my tablet thru a USB DAC to an analogue amp

I am trying to output audio to my amp thru a USB DAC. I'm connecting my tablet to the DAC with a micro-USB to USB lead and there is a definite click from the speakers when I make the connection. However the audio can be heard from the tablet but not from the speakers. Is there a setting I need to change in the tablet to get this to work, or a file to install? Thanks
