Hello everyone. I bought the smartphone Samsung S4 one year ago (Warranty already expired). Since last week I have noticed that after that the battery became hot in my pocket, the battery died after a few hours. Even the whole phone was hot. At home it did charge but after 100 percent the LED light remained red.

So I decided to buy one battery in case. Man, an OEM battery costs a lot here (Mauritius).

After replacing the old battery, the situation is the same, the battery after charging for more than two hours, well, it's 100 percent but the red light remains on and the GREEN LED never lit up. The phone screen and the back is still hot even when phone is off.

Can you please tell me solutions? Does changing the motherboard cost a lot?

Thanking you in advance.

Welcome to Android Central. It's probably something in the OS that is overworking. Turn the phone off. If you have an SD card, remove it. Turn the phone back on. See if that helps. If not, you may need to consider doing a reset.

Thanks Golfdriver97.

Can you please tell me if after doing a reset, if it does not work, will it be a hardware problem? I searched some forums, some say changing motherboard. Do this cost a lot?

I hope I will get answers as I have already spent a lot with this phone. ;)
Have a great day.

Thanks again for the reply. I will try these tips and if not working I will bring to a retail shop.

I don't know if this is true, Samsung builds are not that good. My next phone will definitely not be a Samsung. I hope not offending anyone.
