Uninstall ROM Manager immediately. It has been known to cause bricks.

You will have to flash a custom recovery manually for the time being. If you haven't rooted your phone yet, follow the rooting guide in the stickies or use the Sons of Korhal root utility.

I have used the sons of korhal ...BTW it was f'n awesome! what do i need to do to manually get a custom recovery?

The below link should point you in the right direction.

EDIT: Apparently the forum doesn't automatically change URLs into links when posted on mobile. You know what to do with that though ;)

If you want something simple follow the ZVH automated rooting thread and select Option C. It should work fine with a "Sons of Korhal" rooted phone. If for some reason it doesn't, post in that thread and I'll fix it.

You use adb thru the comand prompt on your computer.to get to command prompt you go to run and type cmd.if you didnt add adb to the environment variable in your cpu then you have to type in the path to adb in order to use it

Ok...I have access to the adb now. and i need to put on my custom recovery...i put all the commands in but nothing happened.....i think i need root access what do i need to type? when i type su for it says permission denied

BTW ... im on 2.2.2

you need to root your phone first before you can install a custom recovery, then custom recovery, then rom if you so desire

it should, to check you type in su in adb then watch your phone and super user should pop up and ask for permission

it doesn't ask...it just says permission denied....ok i rooted with sons of korhal because how easy it is thats why!.....that is just for 2.3.3...what do i do for 2.2.2?

I think i really messed up my phone :(......i cant get rid of the other super user icon from when i used sons of korhal and the ginger snap says it worked but it still isn't asking permission

im not sure but i think you'd be able to run the update.zip to zvh then dowgrade with the zvd update.zip and start all over with gingersnap

just take your time read the post and you should have no problems root first then recovery then make a nandroid backup of your stock rooted phone then flash a rom
