PLEASE HELP how do i change the notification sound for a new voicemail?

i have looked under settings > sound and notification > notification sound, and the sound i chose is not the sound that plays. please help.

try set then reboot phone.

I use Google Voice Lite for Voicemail. Lots of advantages -

ah i actually already have a google voice number. i am only trying to change the sound my phone makes to notify me of a new voice mail. thank you!!

you misunderstand. use your GV Number for Voicemail. GV App lets you pick any sound. also - lots of free perks - transcription etc.

ohhh i see. but doesn't my phone also allow me to pick a notification sound for new voicemail? i hate to add another app for something seemingly so simple (that i had until the last update).

i guess not if it's not in settings. but just try GV Lite for Voicemail. it's a beautiful thing. and check out the GV Chrome Extension too so you can see/check/read/hear Voicemails from your PC!
