Question please help me get rid of contacts

I deleted some contacts in my address book but when I text, those names that I deleted are still there as an option to select to text to.

How do I permanently them from even showing up when I text? I don't need reminders of these people

I have an oppo find x5

Try clearing the app cache for your messaging app in Settings>Apps. If that doesn't work, you could also try clearing the app data -- your currently saved messages should be safe, because they're typically saved in a separate system app (usually called Phone & Messaging Storage or something similar).
