I came from an iPhone 4 (which my wife is now loving) bcause I wanted a keyboard. I think I was spoiled by the iPhone though. Most android users I talk to say it's normal to experience spontaneous reboots. OK. Let me make a list and please tell me if I can do anything to avoid these problems:

When I use places or Google maps and I find a phone # link and click on it the phone doesn't dial the number. It looks through my contacts to find the closest number to it.

On two occasions I have had to do a battery pull after starting the camera app and bricking the phone.
I may need a new battery door if this keeps up.

Battery life is just Ok even an extended life battery and with Juice defender plus installed. I hate having to think about my battery.

I have had to reboot the phone myself on many occasions when I have found it getting very laggy.

Tagging doesn't seem to work on FB uploads but thats an app issue.

The contacts that the phone (or Google or Verizon?) pulled into the phone are almost all uneditable. Is there a good contact editor I can use on my computer? Not Verizon V-cast crap.

Phone call quality is fair to poor on Verizon in Dallas area.

Now I think I know why everybody salivates over updates. I can't wait for some bug fixes.

There's no fix for your problems... go back to iphone.

Do factory reset. That most likly will fix the reboot or at least it will be a lot less. No it will help your batter too. I get 18 plus with light use. Yesterday I had 50% at 18 hours. Android phones do more then iphones so they use more batter do it.

no offense, but i think the iphone is kind of whack...my battery was running out this evening at the mall, so i used my wife's iphone 4 as backup, and my my my, people hype that phone up way to much....that screen was soo small, i needed a magnify glass (slight exaggeration)...also i wasn't feeling the keyboard much ( do they have feedback?). The os was kind of snappy, and their 5 megapixal cam is better than the 8mp one on the droid 3, but i just like android way more than ios

Trying moving all off your apps that are stored in Media Area to Phone to counter lag issues.

Also download CPU Usage Monitor from the market and enable the monitor in the notification bar. It's not essential or mind-blowing, but seeing usage on the D3's second core when doing certain tasks is drool-worthy and it reminds you that you have the latest tech processor-wise.

This absolutely works. I moved all my apps over this morning and my home screen lag is gone. Thanks for that tip!

go to settings> applications > manage applications > select application > under storage, select your preference (media or phone).

Thanks. So the phone has 16GB of internal memory, how much is devoted to media and to phone, and what can be put on the SD card? If this is answered in another thread just point me to it.

Okay 1.5 GB is internal memory for apps. The D3 has about 11 GB of memory in media area. The rest is for the OS and system processes I think. If I'm not mistaken, apps cannot be ran off of an external SD card as that's what the internal SD card (media area) is used for. You can put anything on an external SD card and the internal SD card but the 1.5 GB is reserved strictly for apps and system processes.
