PLEASE HELP me: Issues with camera focusing in the dark

I have the same issue with my HTC One. What I have found after extensive testing is that in very very low light situations the camera doesn't have enough light to focus. It will take the picture and the flash will come on but the picture will be blurry. I am currently getting around this by using a third party app that allows me to turn on the flash (torch mode) inside the camera app. This way the camera can focus and the pictures come out great. Unfortunately third party apps aren't designed to work specifically with the HTCs camera hardware so the experience isn't as smooth as with the stock camera app.

I have e-mailed HTC to let theme know of the issue, and have suggested that they enable a torch mode within the camera app, or perhaps some sort of focus pre flash for this type of situation. I would recommend you do the same, as I'm sure this is something they could easily fix with an update, but unless we push for it we won't get it.

I hope this info was helpful!

Read the entire post, most people dont help out or understand whats going on.

Flash to focus in order to take the picture on the HTC one doesnt exist.
I have the same problem and its linked to the camera hardware, meaning that even if you root, change kernel and rom of the device it will still fail.

Tried, cyanogenmod, google play edition, android revolution hd gpe and sense editions and a bunsh of custom kernels, nothing seems to fix the issue.

I emailed htc, here is the reply:

Dear David ,

I appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention concerning the Camera application. We are committed to delivering a great customer experience. As such, we investigate all reported issues. David, we apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced and appreciate your patience as we work quickly to investigate this matter. In some instances, we may be able to deploy a software update to address an issue. We recommend you regularly check your device for updates and download them when available. I thank you for sending your email to HTC and I hope you have a wonderful afternoon.

Response doesn't even make sense since the problem its not phone software, its a hardware problem that possibly can be fixed by a firmware which I doubt they will do.
By the way, researching in the internet I found out all HTC phones have the same problem and have never been fixed, guess what is going to be the answer.

Conclusion is:
1.-Even if "ultrapixel camera" was created for low light conditions, its still garbage because this problem.
2.-I will never buy another htc phone in my life

Regards
