PLEASE help me root my verizon fascinate and how do i get ICS?

I am an extreme noob to this process but if any one out there can give me EXTREMELY simple directions on how to root my samsung fascinate i would be much appreciative. Also i saw something about getting Ice Cream Sandwich on my phone through rooting/flashing and if anyone could provide me with a suitable guide todo so thatd be awesome....thank you for anyone that responds to this

Welcome to Android Central.

If you swing by our Fascinate forums you will find some very helpful guides on rooting the Fascinate. As far as ICS , I think what you are referring to or hearing about is the mention of CM9 (Cyanogen Mod 9) which is ICS based coming to the Galaxy S line in general.

If this does happen it will open a whole new world for the Fascinate, Epic 4g, Vibrant & Mesmerize phones.

Any problems on rooting, feel free to ask the help of your fellow members in the Fascinate section they are a great group of people there...
