Please help, my phones starting to act up.

Hello, ok so my main problem is that occasionally when I play music on my phone and lock the screen the music starts to buffer but that stops once I unlock the phone, it's not only a problem with the stock players but with players I've downloaded, even with VK (where the music isn't even saved onto my phone/SD card). This also stops when I connect to the wifi and use it for a bit, I don't know what's wrong.


I got my S3 roughly a month ago, brand new.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by the music buffering when you lock the screen? Is it still playing?

Thank you! Yes, it's still playing but lags/skips some parts! Restarting the phone hasn't helped and clearing the cache only worked for about 2 minutes!

Does it happen with Google Play Music as well? Also, did you recently get any updates to Android 4.3? I've been hearing about lots of problems with Samsung updates in general lately.

I live in the UAE so I haven't gotten the update yet, still on 4.1.2!

The only other thing I can suggest right now is a factory data reset, but you'll lose all of your data and apps. It's straightforward to reinstall everything afterwards, but it's just a hassle.
