Please Help OS problem

I think it's the OS because i didn't drop my phone or get it wet, and it randomly started being slow, when opening my gallery and camera, then i thought restarting it would help. So i restarted it and when it turns on it shows the SAMSUNG on a black screen for about 10 seconds then goes blank then shows SAMSUNG and won't turn on, just repeats this, not sure if it's just not being able to boot up, after taking out the battery, sim card and micro sd, and putting them back it just does the same thing. Playing with it some more i found out if you hold volume down and power button it intiates a
"ODIN MODE"

show's an android guy and says Downloading... Do not turn off target !!
am i suppose to be downloading something while hooked up to my computer? i don't know but thanks for reading.

i figured it out, had to restore my phone. Lame but now it works..

How did your restore your phone? It sounds like I am having the same problem. It started a couple of days ago.
