My phone will not turn on. All I get is the blue pulse light, that's it.

This came out of nowhere. I don't know what to do now.

Please help! What can I do?

OK. I'll try to relay everything to you guys as accurately as possible.

Tried to use my phone as usual about an hour ago. I was groggy with sleep. Phone has (as best I can recall) Frankenstein's Ego updated custom ROM on it. Yesterday everything was perfect. I had everything where it was supposed to be, phone was working marvelously (as far as as I could discern).

Two hours ago (it's dawn now) I reached for it, groggy with sleep and found that it didn't want to come on completely, so to speak. Then it shut down. I tried starting it up, all I got was the occasional blue light pulse on the upper right hand side of the device.

Since then I've tried to boot it but it won't go! The furthest I got was the 'Samsung Galaxy S II' black and white, that's it. I've tried holding down the various buttons while pressing the power button as well and the thing will not start. I now have it connected to my laptop as I'm typing this, and it somehow managed to get into Odin Mode, with the android in the center of the screen.

But now I don't know what to do! I don't want to touch anything before I hear from you guys first. Please help me with this. I've given you all the relevant details I'm aware of. For now I'm gonna leave it alone.

Much appreciated.

Okay that's not a EMMC brick. Sounds like you need to reflash. I would Odin the EL29 one click and start over. I have to head into work now, but I can provide more details when I get in, unless someone is able in the meantime.

Thank you both for your replies. I just got home. Phone is here on the night stand, still bricked as I type this. I have the EL29 file in my downloads folder, I've done it before. If I do that I'll basically be going back to stock right? Right.

I'll try it now. Gonna be a project I guess. I have until four o'clock to focus on this (roughly two hours). If anyone in the meantime has any suggestions or anything, always much appreciated. Here I go.

Sounds like you are on the right path. You can try the version that doesn't wipe your data but I think you will have issues so I would stick with the EL29 package that wipes everything. Suggestions: be patient and keep it charged.

I need help to i have a stock epic4g touch, when i press the power button the captive buttons lights on but it won't turn on and i tried booting it in to recovery mode but that don't work either.

Possible screen damage, maybe? If you are stock why not just bring it to the sprint store? Maybe try flashing the stock EL29 package with odin to see if it boots if you don't want to go to sprint.

When i hold the power button it vibrates and the buttons light up then go away.I will go to a sprint store but i thought there was a fix.

Yeah definitively sounds like a screen issue since you are getting a response from the phone.

Evening now.

I ended up doing exactly what you suggested. I actually tried the the 'no.data' loss restore of EL29 first but you were right, there were issues. So I simply did a complete factory reset, rooted.

I've since installed ClockWorkMod as well. I suppose now my device is once again ready for custom ROMs, yes? Oh wait, if I want to install Frankenstein's Ego I'll have to flash the EL26 kernel no? I think so. So I'll probably get on that now then.

Any other ICS or various custom ROMs out there that are great which I might be unaware of? Any info is really appreciated.

Cheers!

I really like the Venum's AnaKonda ROM (found over at XDA). Ran it longer than any other, and never had an issue. Very smooth.

If everything went through fine then you should be good to go with flashing ROMs. I'm running Frankenstein's latest ROM (FIFO2) and per the instructions, you should ODIN to EL26 w/ CWM to flash the ROM.

I ran in to a bit of an issue trying to add the add ons.. I flashed Frankenstein ego then flashed el 26 using mobile Odin.. then when it went to reboot.... it was stuck on the boot screen.. I got a bit nervous but I pulled the battery and manually opened cwm... I then flashed my add ons then flashed the ff02 kernal that comes with the rom and then reboot... an to my surprise it booted right up.. I'm guessing Frankensteins rom is not compadible or won't boot up with el 26.... wow I'm rambling sorry....

Last time I did that I used ROM Manager on my device, but I've been instructed not to do it that way. I think that's what messed everything up for me this last time, so I want to go about it correctly once and for all.

Can you provide a link as to where I can find EL26 w/CWM and how to flash that ROM? Should I use Mobile Odin? Last time ROM Manager did it for me, and embarrassingly enough, I don't know how to do it from where I am at the moment. Right now I'm rooted stock EL29 with CWM (installed a little while ago). I had instructions for getting that far but I don't know how to go about installing EL26 kernel manually or installing any ROMs after that. Please advise.

Thanks!

SInce I can't see YouTube at work, I'm just gonna assume those are links to the QBKing77 video tutorials. If not, you can go to the below link to get the ROM and kernel:

After you put the ROM file on your SD card, use ODIN/Mobile ODIN to flash the EL26 kernel w CWM. After that's flashed, turn your phone off. Once it's off press and hold power+volume up until you see the Samsung logo then release. Once you see the CWM screen, press up, down, up, down on the volume rocker to enable the power button to select line items. Do a backup first then follow the install instructions for the particular ROM you wanna use.

Any time you wanna flash a new ROM you're going to have to use ODIN/Mobile ODIN to flash teh EL26 kernel first.

Unbelievable, but my phone crapped out on me again today. Bricked just like it did the last time.

I'm going to stay away from that ROM; maybe rooted stock is the way to go. I just hate to miss out...

Sucks. Now I have to rebuild everything. What a project. Don't know why I got shafted like this with that ROM (the sad thing is I'll probably try it again). Oh well. Here goes. Later.

Cheers
