Hey all,

I am having a couple of weird issues with my brand new Thunderbolt (stock).

#1
The first is, one of my AOL email accounts keeps saying (and reminding me via a notification) that I have 6 new emails. Even though, all emails are read or old.

#2
The second is, the same account is not actually receiving/updating any new emails, whether I get one, or twenty. I have to go through a browser to see that I have received something.

The odd thing is, my other AOL email account (set up basically the same way) is working completely fine.

On my last Thunderbolt (which was rooted and running BAMF, shortly before it broke and got this new replacement), I was experiencing Problem #2 for the last few days or so.

Any ideas?

Same thing going on with my Yahoo mail, haven't found a fix yet

The default "mail" app works so I'm using that for now.

have you considered removing the email ? Then re-add the email. Remove the battery and the SIM card and then reinsert the SIM card.........this might help. Its a mini computer....glitches happen I hope this helps;).

Go to .... Menu... Settings... Applications... Manage Applications... Email... Clear the cache/data.

For not receiving emails... Do you have Background Data enabled?
Menu... Settings.. Accounts & Sync.. Turn on Background Data and Auto Sync. Also select the email account under Accounts & Sync and make sure the sync is turned on and set the update schedule for how often you would like the phone to check for new emails.

Also go into your email app... Go to settings and make sure notifications and syncing is turned on.

I tried to delete and re-add the account.

I tried to clear "data" ... I re-set up the email account, but still having the same problems.
I cannot clear "cache" ... it is greyed out. (because I'm not rooted??)

I do have Background Data enabled. I tried auto-sync.

I am still not receiving emails to my phone.
I am still getting a "new email" notification when I check for new email, even though I don't actually have any new email.

I had same problem on my Droid x. But on stock gmail. Tried everything. But then I got tbolt and every thing works pretty good. For the most part. I sometimes get that problem but I have to hit refresh manually ( even tho I have background data on) and it works good after a few seconds.
