PLEASE HELP! What's wrong with my tablet?

For the past two days my tablet has been telling me that I needed to update to the latest operating system, I finally did yesterday and it was fine. The tablet also worked this morning and afternoon, then I went to open the YouTube app and all of a sudden the screen went black, and now whenever I wake it up this grayish screen is all I get. It's still making sounds, the water sound it makes when the screen is unlocked is still there, and notifications still come through. What's going on, is there any way to fix this?

Most of this can come from loose LCD cable. One way to verify if your tablet can connect to a TV HDMI adapter, if the display is normal on TV, the problem is from LCD.
If reconnected LCD cable won't solve the problem, the LCD is bad.

I connected it to my tv and it showed fine, how do I reconnect the LCD cable, is that something that I can do myself?

The LCD cable is the orange cable near the USB port. I think it's more likely the LCD is bad, you have to either change the LCD only or the whole LCD assembly if you don't know how to separate the touchscreen. Watch youtube how to replace touchscreen and see if you can handle it by yourself.
