Hi, I'm new here, and I really appreciate the help in advance....

My tablet is driving me insane.
I have an RCA Android tablet, purchased from Walmart. I'm unsure of the model number or anything. But it's the kind with the detachable keyboard.

Anyways, some times my device works great. Other times it is so slow. And some times lags so bad my only option is to just turn it off and reboot. And it's not the internet or WiFi connection. It's the tablet itself. Even my home screen freezes or lags.

This is a fairly new device (under a year old) so I don't know what the problem could be. I have a few apps downloaded and a few dozen pictures.. no long videos/movies, no big documents. Just basic phone/tablet stuff...
I even started deleting certain apps I don't use just thinking maybe it would help and it hasn't.

I used to use a cleaning app, (Clean Master or something like that) and I feel like it was making the issues worse and more frequent...

I'm kind of running out of options (that I'm aware of) to fix this issue.

I have owned several of these same brand tablets over the last few years, and while they've had little issues such as being flimsy (screens cracked, or broken when dropped) I've never had this exact issue with any of them.

Any suggestions as to what the problem is, and what I can do to fix it is greatly appreciated.. thanks

Welcome to Android Central! First, it's not that unusual for budget devices like yours to have performance issues. It could be due to underpowered hardware or poorly coded firmware. It could also be due to the apps you've installed -- doing a factory reset and starting from a clean slate can give you an idea if that's the issue.

Avoid all "cleaner" apps (especially anything from Cheetah Mobile). Those apps don't do anything useful that you can't already do from the device's native system menu, and the additional "cleaning" or "boosting" they do run counter to how Android is intended to work (and thus can bog down performance and use up battery). In addition, many of those devs are sneaky and throw in all kinds of adware (or worse).

Welcome to Android Central. These may help, do the system cache first.

Clearing system cache:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Hold the Volume Up and Power Keys together.
3. Release the keys when the MANUAL MODE screen appears.
4. Wait 2-3 minutes.
5. Press the Volume Down key to scroll to delete all cache data.
6. Press the Power key to select.
7. Wait for a few seconds ad the device clears information.
8. Press the Power key to select reboot system now.
9. Wait as the device restarts.

Follow the detailed instructions below on how to completely reset your RCA Android 7 Voyager (RCT6773W22) tablet.

Step 1. With your tablet off, press and hold the volume up (+) button and power button until you see the RCA splash screen with Nipper and Chipper. Release both buttons to reveal the Android bot on his back with a caution symbol above him.

Step 2. A new screen will appear asking you to use your volume up/down keys to move and the power button to select.

Step 3. Use the volume down (-) button to highlight "wipe data/factory reset." Once highlighted, select using the power button.

Step 4. A new screen will appear asking you to confirm your selection. Use your volume down (-) button to highlight "Yes -- delete all user data." Press the power button to select once highlighted.

Step 5. Once the tablet is finished wiping data, you may press the power button to select "reboot system now." This will restart your tablet.

Step 6. The system will begin to reboot and once again display the RCA logo with Nipper and Chipper. The next "Welcome" screen will prompt you to select your language of choice. Scroll through the options using your finger and press start when finished. Congratulations, you have successfully reset your RCA 7 Voyager tablet.
