Please help with email

My verizon email account is showing I only have 2 emails yet my droid x2 shows I have 53!! I cannot believe the droid cannot update to show what is on the email server. I had a really cruddy phone previously that did.

Can anyone help?

Is your email syncing properly? Check your menus for sync options.

I'm not sure how third party email works, as, I use gmail. Are you supposed to be able to delete emails from your phone and have it delete it from your actual Verizon account? If so, try deleting an email from your phone, but, one that shows up on your computer. If you see the delete when on your computer, that's good, if not, it's not syncing right.

They are still there. It is very frustrating. I use Verizon for everything.

Did you try deleting an email that was new? Like, something that you just got? If you delete it from your phone and it doesn't delete when you view your email on your computer, you know you have some type of sync issue.

You should consider switching to gmail anyway. I'm always kind of surprised when people tell me they have a Comcast, Hotmail, etc. nowadays. Google's products are so comprehensive (and free), I don't see why everyone isn't on board.

I've had this email address for eons. Too much of a pain to switch it over. When I delete an email on verizon, it still shows up on my phone. When I delete from my phone, it deletes from Verizon. I need it to work the other way as well.

There should be ways to set it up so that all mail is forwarded to a different email address. Not sure exactly how that works, but, I would assume it's not that complicated. You might want to look into that.

My guess is that the email app just pushes them to your phone, and, stores them locally. Not sure that there is really any way around this. I would suggest checking around in the menu options for something that might help you, if not, I think you are out of luck. But, I could be wrong, maybe someone else will chime in.
