Please Help

I made an attempt to root my HTC Evo 4G and it got pretty messed up. I had the 2.18 baseband version on it and after rooting it dumbed it down to 2.10. Now I have it back to 2.15 after using RUU. How do I get it back to 2.18 and the Android version back to 2.3?

And no...in my anxiousness to get this thing rooted I did not backup.

Did you ever get an answer to this? It seems as if most of these threads are outdated by 1-2 years. Obviously much has changed. I'm at 2.15 and would like to get back to 2.18 so I can install the OTA update and get everything back to normal as if I just bought the phone.

Can anyone help? Is more information needed?
