Please Help!!!!

I really want to play games with a controller so I plugged a wired xbox 360 controller into a otg cable into my phone. The controller is afterglow, and lit up like it was supposed to, but the ring around the home button kept flashing, like it does when you first turn it on, on a normal xbox 360. All the games said please connect a gamepad, or no gamepad found. Please Help!!!
