Hi everyone, I've been having problems with he audio when I record a video, looks like the sound is really low because only the bottom Mic is being used to record sound, I want to see if this problem is only with a few faulty tbolts or more of a common general prob so please try this:

1. Hold the phone up like how you would normally would when recording something.

2. Record a video of you saying something like "testing testing 1, 2, 3"

3. Record a video of something a bit further away that's making noise like a tv.

4. Play back the video and see if the sound is low or normal compares to your other phones when recording a video.

5. Post back on here your findings

Thanks.

I was about to start a topic on this actually. I too noticed very low volume when playing back video on my phone. The volume did seem better when I hooked up my USB to my computer and played the video on my computer.

I could not find any options to change the recording volume, so I'm not sure what to do here either.

I just did a test keeping my voice at the same volume in my voice as I moved the device around and then tested while walking away in the same video. The mic is most definitely on the bottom and it's a phone mic. It wasn't meant to pick up things more than literally a few feet away. I think that's where most complaints come from. It's not ideal for a camcorder but I'm sure there's an android app that can boost mic gain. That might not have real high fidelity results but hey it's a trade off.

It may very well me possible to make the noise cancelling mic the primary mic but I really don't know how to do that. As far as I can tell it is not actually ever used for sound recording and is likely a calibrated specialized mic (meaning even with proper software it wouldn't sound very good).
