Poblem with my battery life

New battery should fix it. You should never let lithium battery drop under 20%

Lithium batteries have a circuit built in that will "switch off" the battery if you discharge it below a certain level (2.5volts/cell)). If they do, the battery will play dead and it takes a special charger to revive it again. It's still not advisable to constantly discharge to very low levels, although they advise us to discharge fully after 30 cycles to reset the power gauge that is used to predict battery life...

Welcome to Android Central! Since it's an S6, the battery can't be replaced easily. The battery sensor software might need to be recalibrated -- what happens if you let the phone shut off automatically from low battery, then charge back up to 100%?

I believe what @Tim1954 meant was that it's good practice not to let the battery drop below 20% on a regular basis, since that can reduce the overall lifespan of the battery -- but doing so every now and then won't cause any immediate problem.

Who's advising us of that?
And do you have the source?

Battery University is also a great resource. From this page: "Cycling a battery at less than full discharge increases service life" and "Avoiding full charges and discharges reduces battery stress."
