I have an S10 plus and it's not an android auto problem. The Google podcast app stops playing any sound. the pause play button has the circle chasing thing going around like a download problem but I download all my podcasts ahead of time. This just started recently. It happens whether I'm using it in my Jeep or just listening through the phone or a bluetooth speaker. I have uninstalled the app and deleted my podcasts and re-installed everything. Anyone have this issue?

Is the app in battery optimized or you phone in medium power save or adaptive mode ?

No, I'm sorry, I should have added that I checked those settings. I have all the power stuff turned off and always have. It's plugged in much of the day, so I've never worried about battery life. I am ready to try and wipe the phone and start over but wanted to check if anyone else was having this problem. I searched and didn't find anything.

Before you do , do you have battery in high performance mode ?

Does it only do it through bluetooth, or does it happen listening with loudspeaker or headphones attached?

Power management issue...
No carrier power management crap or Samsung ones you missed. Check the switches in Device Manager>battery>upper corner 3 buttons>settings; make sure the "Optimize Settings" switch is off.
While in that window double check sleeping apps. Make sure it and none of it's dependent apps are disabled.
Keep playing with it; it is there!

Last resort global reset of app settings, not advised.
Find the setting or it will come back to haunt you again.
Android can be like a bad gf.
Sometimes you just need to play with them... a lot.
