My status is at "Device Received" since 10/06. Just hope to see some movement soon. I'm still fully within the 6 day time period... not sure if weekend days count.

Even though, I got a email stating they shipped it (on 10-05), I voted in limbo because, I have no tracking information.

Mine's been showing as completed but no shipping info since 10/6. I sure hope they send it back to me soon. :(

Mine says received on the 4th, completed on the 5th, shipped on the 5th, received email stating it was shipped, received survey wanting my feedback and if it worked ok when I received it. Called today and was told it hasn't shipped and will ship on the 14th. WTF, I sent it to them on the 3rd??? They can't provide a tracking number.

On the 6th, my RMA tracking info indicated that they'd received it on the 5th, processed the RMA on the 6th, and listed the SIM ID.

Then, last night, I got the following:

Motorola Mobility Customer Services motorola_mktg@rnmk.com

Dear <name redacted>

We wanted to let you know that we are still in the process of completing your upgrade. We apologize for the delay and will send you an additional notification once the device has shipped early this week.

Sincerely,

Motorola Mobility Customer Services

I checked again a couple of minutes ago, and the tracking info has not changed:

DEVICE TRACKER
Ticket Opened
09/29/2011

Device Received
10/05/2011

RMA Processed
10/06/2011

Device Shipped
Tracking Number

Shipping Carrier

<redacted>

This is becoming very disconcerting.

What is your Status?

I don't know what my status is. Motorola can't even tell me if my device has been upgraded. They have had the device since 10/5/11.

The "supervisor" that I spoke with sent some sort of a message that will take 48 hours to get a response too.

I looks like those that got theirs sent in right away had pretty good luck...but, it appears that Motorola must have gotten swamped fairly quickly after that. Seems like yet another case of piss-poor planning on their part. If they din't want to commit the resources to handle the deluge, then they should have staggered their shipment of shipping boxes so that the units would have come in at a rate that they would be able to handle.

Love my Xoom (and am thrilled to have finally received word that it's on it's way back to me), but I'll never buy another Motorola product which promises some future upgrade. Moto botched this one big time - later, silent, and now slow to perform and deliver (and again, completely silent about what is happening. I called, and got zero answers, being simply told that I'd get it back "soon"). Bad, bad PR for the company.

Got home from work and checked tracking. Mine shows shipped and to be delivered by 10:30am tommorow. Tommorow will be business day #6 so if it makes it they made the 6 day turnaround. On FexEx tracking page it changed to" in transit" since I check at 5pm eastern time.

Some serious movement on my Xoom upgrade... the Moto site shows me as shipped with tracking #. Should have it tomorrow. I can't wait to get my Xoom back!!

What is your Status?

Might I suggest you create a follow-up poll which asks how many days (from date shipped to date returned) did peoples upgrades take.

Putting their tie with the device as being "up to six business days" was (i believe) purposefully deceptive, as it automatically adds at least one weekend to the total time anyone could expect to be without their Xoom. I sent mine in on the 4th, and got it back on the 12th. As I packaged mine up in the morning of the 4th, and will not actually have mine back in hand until I return home today, I have actually been 9 very painful days without the use of my Xoom.

However, from their perspective, having received it on the 5th, and shipped it back on the 11th, they beat their 6-business day turn-around, thanks to the weekend for "padding" (as if they didn't have people working on upgrades those two days). I'm wondering if my 9 days without my Xoom is about the average most people did/will actually experience?

I suspect there was an issue and now that this has been resolved future upgrades will be quicker.

Motorola has a lot of issues. First and foremost honesty. That is not something that comes to them naturally. Second, issue is that of communication. They refuse to adequately or appropriately communicate with people.

Mine's now showing that it shipped and FedEx says I will have it tomorrow. Too bad I have to be at work. Maybe I'll get lucky and they will deliver it before I have to leave for the office.

Got mine back this morning at 9am EDT. So far so good. The docking station is super cool and a real nice freebie from Motorola.
