Was excited for my new toy. Two hours on the charger and all it gets it hot with a drained battery. Says paired but endlessly says "wait a moment" and nothing happens. Total waste of time and money. Texting for help on Motos chat page and the only response is " I apologize for that". A call for tech help only results in instructions to restart it over and over with the same results. I was warned...I didn't listen.

Do some searching in the forums. I've posted about this issue a bunch of times. There's an easy fix. Search is your friend.

I've seen posts about it not charging past a certain point, but mine simply discharges completely with the charging dock light on. Not seeing anything else helpful

Ok here is the deal. I'll keep it short and sweet for you. I feel like alot of this is software glitches.

First just reset the device off the bat. For whatever reason the provided USB to wall outlet charger may send too much power into it and causes this software bug to be exacerbated.

Now put it on the charger before even setting it up BUT USE ANOTHER OEM USB CABLE and plug it into your COMPUTERS USB SLOT.

This will send a smaller amount of power which wont overload your watch. Leave it there for 1-2 hours depending on what charge it's at now.

Now once it gets to 100% (which unless you have a faulty battery, it will.)

pair it with your phone. In the future until this bug gets sorted out, when it charges make sure you HAVE THE SCREEN OFF WHEN charging. Find that information on another post. If not I'll tell you how.

It should be fine from then on.

Hey Ric. I have a post that can help on the Moto forums.

I paired my watch with my phone, and then put it on the charging dock, but the battery level is actually going down.

How to recover…
  1. Take your Moto 360 off the charger and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Put your Moto 360 back on the charging dock. The LED on the charger should turn on.
  3. Let the watch charge for two hours. It may take up to 30 minutes for the watch to turn on automatically once on the dock.
  4. Once your Moto 360 is fully charged, remove it from the charging dock. You can now continue set-up process.
