Poor GPS accuracy with my op3t

I'm testing my gps using "gps test" app, and no matter what, even with 15+ satellites in use, the accuracy will be 10+ meters (maybe sometimes 7-8 meters but it won't keep it), which is a lot.

Older devices could achieve 3-5 meters of accuracy quite easily, even indoors(!)

Defective sensor or software issue?

Tried to recalibrate compass, no use.
Tried to clear and update agps data, no use.
Tried to clear os cache, no use.

I consistently receive a good GPS fix in under a minute, (usually 30 sec's), to within 5m. First, download from the Play Store, Phone Tester (hardware info) and check under GPS status that your GPS is working. Then download GPS Status & Toolbox and calibrate it as per instructions. Ensure your phone's Location is set to High accuracy and you will be good to go.
