Poor text quality in PDF Viewer

Has anyone else had text quality problems in the PDF Viewer? I got a PDF today that I'll need for a training session tomorrow and loaded it up on the Flyer, planning to mark it up during the session. When I opened it up in the PDF Viewer, the text quality was horrid -- some letters didn't render at all, and the ones that did were grainy and difficult to read, as if someone had scanned the document poorly. Perplexed as to why work would send me such a poor quality document, I fired it up on my computer and realized that the document was pristine when viewed on the computer. Then I downloaded Adobe Reader onto my Flyer and opened up the document -- sure enough, everything was perfectly crisp and legible. Seems like the pre-installed PDF Viewer just has issues, which is unfortunate, since that's the only PDF Viewer that saves pen annotations as PDFs instead of a scribble.

Here's some pictures that show the difference; first attachment is a screenshot of the PDF Viewer I took using the Android SDK, and the second attachment is a Scribble I took of the same document in Adobe Reader:

Nope, no problems with PDFs or MS Office files. Are you sure you don't need to re-size the PDF?

Yep. Zoomed all the way in, and then all the way out, and everywhere in between. Looks like garbage in the PDF Viewer, and looks fabulous in Adobe. I just arbitrarily downloaded a PDF from Google Patents, and it has the same problem. Not really sure what to do about this... it's not significant enough of a defect for me to take it back, but darn if it isn't annoying that I can't annotate PDFs like everyone else.

Edit: Hmmm, I think the problem may be tied to the "resolution" (or whatever the equivalent is for PDF files) of the files. I downloaded a couple more PDFs and they are flawless on both viewers, but the ones that are problematic remain problematic. Not sure what the difference is between the PDFs.
