Poor WiFi speeds on S9

I acquired the S9 about 2 weeks ago and while it is not yet my daily driver, I have been setting it up, playing with it and generally getting it ready for daily driver status.

My ISP recently upgraded me to 200Mbps download speed. I know that I wont get this via WiFi, but I expected it to be within a reasonable range. My old Lumia 950 gets between 150-160Mbps, but the S9 only gets between 70-78Mbps. Tested with 3 speedtest apps including the app by Ookla.

Hoping someone has a remedy.

You should get that on WiFi. Are you on 5GHz? If not then you wont but if so then you should.

I have 1 Gbps at home and can hit 400-500 Mbps.

I'm not on the 5ghz band. I rarely use it. I would be happy to get the same speed on the S9 as I do with the Lumia 950. I know it sounds petty, but it's a case of "it should do this, why isn't it."

2.4 can top out at certain speeds. It is better for range. 5 GHz is meant for speed.

Understood, but I tested both the S9 and the Lumia on the 2.4ghz band. No reason why a 4 year old phone should best a new flagship phone in wifi speed.
