I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5.

Please bear with me as I am not tech savvy.

Sometimes, when I wake up my phone, I have a flashing warning sign that is saying I may have a virus. I understand that this is spam OR adware OR whatever the term may be. I have an antivirus app on my cell and have scanned it with the result being that there are no viruses or issues.

I have also been searching online to see if I could avoid this issue and how to stop it. I have followed some of the advice - avoid third party cookies for instance.

How to I stop these weird things from showing up on my phone?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this only happen when your browser is open, or does it happen even on the homescreen and other apps? If the latter, you probably have some adware that was inadvertently installed along with some other app. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the behavior goes away.
