So lately my HTC EVO has been acting up, It's like it has a mind of it's own. It open up apps, make calls and type by itself. It's like someone else is using my phone **scary**

It's hard to catch it on video because it's very random, basically my phone operates on it's own when it's ready...

have you tried turning it off and then back on?

Your phone appears to be ghosting. I can't remember what causes that in most circumstances, so unfortunately, I won't be much of a help to you

Try to back up and factory restore if possible.

I was gonna do that but really don't want to do a reset and it doesn't work. It's annoying to reinstall everything on my phone..

Wow - sounds like the ghost touching problem I ran into with my Palm Pre --

It was one of the big easons I gave up on the Pre and moved to the EVO.

Yes, it certainly is and that's why I don't recommend this option usually. Are you rooted by any chance?

Mine does the same exact thing. It's very Annoying to deal with. I factory reset it twice and it still does it. Whenever I put the phone down I make sure to lock the screen .I'm glad its not just me.

I was rooted but then I updated my phone with the latest update, which I think unrooted my phone. Strangely I still have that super user app on my phone I tried deleting it but was unable to.
