Possible buyers remorse

Changed carriers and decided to try the Note 8. I was coming from an S8. I really think I decided on the Note because of the camera and the fact that it was released later than the Note came out later than the s8. I miss the compact sized s8, but I know the s9 will be out soon. I have 30 days to return the Note but I want to try to hold out for the s9, even if it is outside of my 30 days. I rarely use the Spen. I feel like I am just not utilizing all the perks of this Note.

If you don't use the S-Pen and don't really feel that the bigger screen and better camera are enough for you, then just go with what you feel comfortable with. The S9 isn't too far away anyway. If rumors are true, however, the better camera on the S9 will still be reserved for the bigger version (S9+).

I don't use the S pen that much. Just for taking notes in OneNote. I had the S8+, so the size difference is negligible for me. Give it try for another week or so. That'll give you a little more time to get used to it. Don't feel obligated to have to use the S pen. Besides, most people take advantage of a fraction of their phones' capabilities anyway.

The performance is also smoother on the Note8 because of the additional RAM. I have both the S8+ and the N8 and I can tell it's smoother. The S9 doesn't look to be a huge performance gain from the N8 so stick with the N8 and hold off for the N9. It's a vicious cycle. if you hold off for the S9 you'll just be tempted by the N9 cuz it'll always be a step up from the S line.

Another option is to just go back to the S8 and hold off for the N9.

maybe spend a good bit of time learning what the spen can be used for and a whole new world might open up for you, watch plenty of YouTube videos

If it's the dual camera you're after, you're going to have to go with the S9+ like SpookDroid stated - the regular S9 is supposed to have the same camera as the S8 with some improvements! Or, just keep the Note 8 and get used to it - I love mine!

I went from the s8 to the Note 8. I miss the more compact S8, but I really like the improved battery and performance (6 gb ram) and I've started using the s-pen a lot. It's a hard decision. I think the one person's advice above about trying it for another week is the best way to decide for you. For me, I'm glad I got the Note 8. I'e had it now for over 3 months.

i think once u are a. Note user its difficult to go back...Note offer more than s8 ...be it better shape (my personal opinion) dual cameras 6gb ram spen the 1200 nits display iris scanner works great...i use G6 also and love the size ...but once i hold the Note 8 and that display...its shows how premium Note line is...will wait for Note 9....thou in india i have free one time screen replacement during my 1 year of owner ship...really happy with the N8

If you're having buyers remorse, it says to me you should go a different direction. IMO, you should be happy with your new phone or it's not the right phone.

This. I have found that a lot of people that don't use the SPen, don't use it because they have not learned how it can fit into their personal usage. Take the time to use the SPen and learn what it can do. Then if it's not for you at least you will have tried.

I notice that too compared to the s8 Plus the RAM certainly helps. Honestly, if I didn't want the Spen I'd would have stuck with the s8 plus and pick up a tab s3 but I just had to have the Note! I won't get the S9 Plus though. Will only be very minor upgrade over the Note 8 and doesn't have spen.

My only remorse is that my S8+ is so new it's hard justifying a Note 8. But I will anyway.

Yes the S Pen had lots of things it can do. I don't see much difference between the S8+ and the Note 8 except for the pen. Yes it has more ram but from phone to phone they are the same. I mean why pay that much for a phone if you aren't going to use its main features? I love my pen. I loved the S8+. I only wish both of these phones could have been a tad wider. People complained they were wide enough that they they can't hold on to it but there are lots of add ons to remedy that and they don't get in the way. I have a Popsocket and am really happy with that but I think the next Note should be wider not taller. JMO.......

Interesting thread, but I'm curious as to what people do with multiple phones? I am now using the S8+, which I absolutely love, but I have an old S6 that works but just stays in a drawer.

I only had the S8+ for a short time so I can't make a real comparison. The only other thing I can add is that I like the curved sides better on the Note. There is more flat surface area on the Note which makes sense. I like having that little bit more room for writting/drawing.

I have been a Note user for a long time... Because of the "S Pen"! I use it for the great note features, but also use it to type out texts, email etc. I just prefer it to using my fingers as the S pen just helps me be more precise! If I didn't use the S pen, I would probably opted for some many other phones and saved a lot of money. This is just me though. Good luck with your decision!
