Possible Iris Scanner Double Use as Night Vision?

My phone is about to come and I'm super excited! The iris scanner and all of the nifty features that this device brings will be awesome.

But I was wondering if it was possible to use the Infared Camera for the Iris Scanner as a night vision camera? This is because the iris scanner works in low light so it should be able to see in the dark.

Unsure though and any help would be appreciated.

I thought about the same thing when I saw that the Iris scanner used an IR camera as well. BUT it's not in either stock or any apps out there, so I assume there's no API to access it, and even if there were, I doubt it'd be to take the images and maybe it's just the authentication token. My guess is that if anyone hacks their way into it and makes this happen (PLEASE!) it'd be something that requires root.
