Possible Qualcomm snapdragon 808 not 810

I have been seeing other sites saying they have seen the G4 with a Qualcomm snapdragon 808 instead of the 810. Can there be any advantage with going with a slower chip, because if you throttle the 810. You still would still get better speed and performance than the 808.

People really get too involved in the phone having the latest chip. Its been proven from a performance standpoint there's no noticeable difference.

Advantage, as I understand it, would be better battery life.

The latest test show it preformed way way below other phones including the G3 and the Flex2. Why step down to a much slower performance if this is your premier phone. Maybe OK now but what about two years from now. Will it show it's age like my G3 is doing?
G4 348f (5.6fps)
G3 438f (7.1fps)
Flex2 1080f (17.4fps)
What good is a HD screen if the processor may not be able to handle it. Boy i think this will lag pretty bad.

Battery and performance is why I would like to see a 1080P screen but on paper, it's a step down. 1080P on a 5.5" screen is more then enough. Who really holds their phone 6 inches away from their face to use it?

According to PDAdb.net, the G4 will be the first device to employ the 808.
