Possible to use both Sprint buyback program and HTC Trade up?

I see that Sprint has a phone buyback program which will give me around $100 for my HTC EVO 4G LTE. HTC is also offering a "Trade Up" program giving people who buy an HTC One a minimum of $100 for certain smartphones. So here's what I'm thinking:

1) Use Sprint's phone buyback program to get $100 for my EVO 4G LTE
2) Use my old Palm Pre2 phone for the HTC Trade up (which they will give me $100)
3) Get the HTC One!

Has anyone tried this? I think it's doable, but I'm not sure if the HTC offer is linked to any Sprint buyback program.

I know I can probably sell my EVO LTE on eBay, etc. but I think trading it in to Sprint would be the easiest method.

Thanks.

This is what I am doing. I am selling my Galaxy note on Ebay (at $245 as of now) and sending in an old POS Blackberry Curve that Best Buy will give me like $20 for into HTC.

I have read that the phone sent into HTC has to have been active at the time of purchase.

Where did you read that?

Edit: Found it in their TOS. It says they have the right to reject it if the device was not active, but I doubt they will be checking every single IMEI number to see if it was active at the time of purchase, so it may be worth a try still.

Which phone? The new HTC One phone needs to be active, or the phone you're sending in? I'm not sure how they can check if the phone you're sending in was the last active phone.

The phone you are sending in. It is in the TOC, but as previously stated, I'm not sure if they will be checking. They have the right to reject the phone though, and if that's the case they will keep and recycle the phone without issuing payment.
