Touching in a certain area of my screen doesn't respond. If I go to sound settings, I am unable to move the call volume slider left or right. When I rotate the phone, I can move the slider because it's now on a different portion of the screen. I have the display settings set to "small". Setting the display size back to "default", the portion of the screen seems to work fine when I move the slider in the same area. Can anyone confirm if this happens to you: setting display size to small and then going to sound options and adjusting call volume slider?

I was unable to activate my wife's new Pixel 3 last night because the bottom right corner of the touchscreen was unresponsive where the "Start" button is located. Other parts of the screen seemed to be ok. Planning to exchange in store today.

I have the same exact problem with my Pixel 3. A whole inch stripe above the middle of the screen isn't registering my touches. I already tested it with the developers tools and it shows how it isn't working at all.
Changing the display size doesn't fix this for me.

My entire screen is responsive... The slight annoyance I am having is when you tap on the screen to select something it will highlight it showing you pushed it, but wont do anything, If I touch the same spot again with slightly more force it will then work.
If it senses the touch enough to highlight it - why not follow through with the action.
I'm hoping it's just the crap Verizon screen protector that I'm using causing this. If not... I'm not sure why it would be doing this.

Everything else = 100% happy with my Pixel 3

I am getting a similar issue but only in one application. Not registering touches in the bottom left side.
Really weird too because every other application is fine. If I flip the phone over and touch the same button, but now on the other side of the screen, same thing. I am leaning towards an application specific issue.

Same issues here - couldnt even log in as I could not get to the letters needed due to dead screen areas. Brand new out of the box phone - sending back today for an exchange after 1 day..

Oh wow. That sounds like a hardware defect for sure. And if it's only a couple of people, then it's just maybe a small lot defect. Hopefully that's all it is and not a major hardware flaw.

Update:
I believe is more of a software related issue, cause since i wrote this, just after a couple of days, the screen went back working as it should. No more touch issues at all, but wait... it randomly happens again for some time and then it goes back to normal.
Haven't found this issue happening to other P3 users, neither if its some kind of bug related to an app.

I am facing the exact same problem. It gets back to working normal once in a while and then sometimes it doesn't respond to the touch at all unless I press the screen real hard. I haven't seen this happening in my friend's phone who bought it at the same time as me. Also, I haven't seen it related to any of the apps. Going into safe mode or resetting the phone also doesn't help.
Let me know if you get any updates, hopefully its not a hardware bug.

Welcome to the forums. If you are having touchscreen issues while in Safe mode then you need to contact Google Support for further troubleshooting or a replacement; that problem is not going to just go away.
